As sombody who has played subnautica and been in the lava zone just build a base use a advanced suit if u don't wanna build a base just simply get the cyclops put 2 grow beds and pick a food of your choice which makes sure you dong need to worry about food and water
With all honesty, most of Ark's locations top all of these by miles. The location included in the list is just a baby island for beginners.
Dark, maze-like caves filled with poisonous animals, sometimes even poisonous fungus can really break even the toughest players. Underwater ravines where you cannot see and get attacked by every horror from the deep. Swamps, where crocodiles can literally jump at you and drag you into the water. What about the insides of an active volcano that is full of hostile animals and if you don't watch out, you will be toasted from the eruption? There are even places where literal wyverns live and burn you to crisp if they see you. And I haven't even mentioned Aberration lol.
Ahhh Carnivore Island. First time I stumbled onto its shores I had no idea what I had found. That was extremely short lived.
The second time I came prepared and built a base on that angled rock you see in the clip. Make it high enough and at least you're safe from the land based dinos. Just watch your step.
Surprised that the Jungle in Terraria wasn't on here. That place has tortoises that can one-shot characte at max HP, tons of poisonous enemies, the usual traps, enemies that can get you through walls, and usually directly connects to the Underworld, a place that's probably as hard if not for the Obsidian Skull item that can completely negate most of the issues the Underworld throws at you
After playing The Forest over and over again, I have to say, it is safer in the caves then the surface. For two reasons, the cannibals in the cave don't respawn, but the loot does. Find one place, clear it out and if food spawns there, you can stay there for ever. Reason 2, the surface gets harder the longer you survive, after a few days bosses will spawn with an army of cannibals to take you out, even if you do clear them out you are spending your resources in the process. In a few days a new wave will arrive, meaning you have to quickly gather new supplies if you want to survive
This is purely my opinion, please don’t attack me: I have fully enchanted netherite armor and weapons, and for some reason very few enemies spawn in the deep dark, I literally go looking for the deep dark because one mining trip down there gave me 30+ diamonds (I have a fully enchanted netherite pick with fortune 3 btw) and because I literally jam pack the place with torches, not that I need to light the place up, I came out without even dropping CLOSE to half health. I understand the place can be dangerous for lower equipped players, personally I feel ocean monuments and soul sand valleys are way more dangerous, because those are the only places I die with all my loot, because drowning and lava with no escape have next to no escape compared to just fighting mobs in the deep dark.
Can you guys please change the trend of barely saying a games title? Didn’t even actually say seven days to die. Of course when its a metal gears game this is different
Here's 2 places I felt were worth mentioning: 1) The Southernmost area in Days Gone. Had the most of hordes and infestations, plus the snow made it much scarier once dark. 2) The Outpost level in Metro 2033. Damn that was hard and scary.
Subnautica’s map end, ghost leviathans are all that lives in the barren empty hole there.
Also, whilst not survival, Barotrauma’s depths hold end worms, and other assorted things, also it is probably well below crush depth meaning you will probably die no matter what.
I remember putting a base on carnivore island and never ever getting attacked. Wasnt because i had good defense it was the mere fact that no one else wanted to be there fending off wild dinos
The Ice Worms in the Arctic Spires are straight out of Dune. Nice reference. Even the device to lure and distract them appears to work the same as the thumpers that the freman use to lure sandworms in Dune.
I only discovered Project Zomboid a few days ago and confirm that literally ANYWHERE that has more than 1 house is a death trap lol. I think My longest survival so far is 2 days, and I haven't even found the Mall yet :/
